Scholarship Fundraisers
Cookie Kits & Soup Kits, During the months of November and December, our members set up outside the entry to Vons Grocery store in Walnut and collect donations for our local College Scholarship program. It has been a big fundraising success and our members have great fun working together to make the kits.
For the 2026 schollarship drive, we will be packaging Chocolate Chip and Confetti Sugar cookie mix as well as our popular Chili and Cornbread jars.
The jars are all gift-wrapped, so they make great holiday gifts. Look for us in front of Vons in November 2024.
A big part of our scholarship fundraising comes from donations.
We welcome all donations--big or small.

Occasionally we put on Special Big Events such as Mystery Dinners, Group Trips and Sweepstakes opportunities.
These big events involve more planning, community support, and lots of fun.

Harbor Dinner Cruise Drawing
This event was very successful in 2024 and 2025. The Compass Rose owners generauly donated their time and boat to hold this event, This Special Event was an opportunity to win a Harbor Dinner Cruise for 4 people. We limited our ticket sales to 100.

There are many ways to donate. From time-to-time, WVWC has a special drive for donated items. Our members volunteer their most valuable assets and time.
- Knit chemo caps (distributed by Cap Crusaders)
- Donate personal supplies for needy military veterans, homeless and victims of domestic abuse (WINGS shelter)
- Donate books to Walnut's Little Library in front of the Walnut Senior Center
- Volunteer in the classrooms
- Volunteer time at food banks and hospitals.
- Volunteer at animal shelters
