Cookie Kits & Soup Kits: During the months of November and December, our members set up outside the entry to Vons Grocery store in Walnut to support our community charity efforts by collecting donations for our local College Scholarship program. This initiative has proven to be a successful fundraising event, and our members enjoy collaborating to create the kits. 

For the 2026 scholarship fundraisers, we will be packaging Chocolate Chip and Confetti Sugar cookie mix, along with our popular Chili and Cornbread jars. All jars are beautifully gift-wrapped, making them perfect holiday gifts. Make sure to look for us in front of Vons in November 2024. 

A significant portion of our scholarship fundraising relies on donations, and we appreciate contributions of all sizes—big or small.

Have fun playing Bunco at our exciting community charity event! It's a great way to get to know your neighbors while participating in one of our engaging fundraising events. Win great prizes and help support our various charitable projects, including scholarship fundraisers, assistance for needy families, and resources for veterans and active military members. 

Mark your calendars for the next Bunco event, coming in Fall 2026 at the Walnut Senior Center. 

Tickets will be announced soon and will include light refreshments and prizes. Reserve your spot by sending money through Zelle to Walnut Valley Women's Club at wvwc.org@gmail.com, or mail a check, made out to Walnut Valley Women's Club, to P.O. Box 563, Walnut, CA 91788-0563.

Occasionally, we host Special Big Events such as Mystery Dinners, Group Trips, and fundraising events that include exciting Sweepstakes opportunities. These big events require meticulous planning, community support, and promise lots of fun while contributing to our mission of community charity. 

Ways you can participate in these events include:

- Becoming a sponsor 

- Buying tickets to events and raffles 

- Providing raffle prizes 

- Donating your time 

Harbor Dinner Cruise Drawing 

This fundraising event was incredibly successful in 2024 and 2025. The Compass Rose owners generously donated their time and boat to host this Special Event, providing an opportunity to win a Harbor Dinner Cruise for four. We limited our ticket sales to just 100 to ensure exclusivity. 

The winner for the 2025 Harbor Cruise was drawn on December 15, 2025, with proceeds going towards our scholarship fundraisers.

There are many ways to support community charity initiatives. From time to time, WVWC organizes special drives for donated items as part of our fundraising events. Our members selflessly volunteer their most valuable assets and time.

Contribute by knitting chemo caps, which are distributed through Cap Crusaders. You can also donate personal supplies to support needy military veterans, the homeless, and victims of domestic abuse through the WINGS shelter. Another great way to help is by donating books to Walnut's Little Library located in front of the Walnut Senior Center.

We encourage you to volunteer in classrooms, at food banks, hospitals, or even at animal shelters. Additionally, consider participating in our scholarship fundraisers to help students achieve their educational goals.

The challenge is to create a fun activity that engages our community while raising funds for important initiatives. We encourage members to invite their guests, who are also welcome to donate at our fundraising events. Memorable examples of such activities include:  

- Sailboat race  

- Game days  

- Mastering the Instant Pot  

- Sip and Paint  

- Learning a craft  

- Movie day
